{"id":1304,"date":"2011-05-24T04:15:29","date_gmt":"2011-05-24T02:15:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/dradisframework.com\/blog\/?p=1304"},"modified":"2021-03-01T18:45:21","modified_gmt":"2021-03-01T17:45:21","slug":"upgrading-from-dradis-270-to-271","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/dradis.com\/blog\/2011\/05\/upgrading-from-dradis-270-to-271\/","title":{"rendered":"Upgrading from Dradis 2.7.0 to 2.7.1"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>This week we are&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.dradisframework.org\/2011\/05\/dradis-271-released.html\">releasing Dradis Framework 2.7.1<\/a>&nbsp;which closes several bugs and brings a new note editor.<br><br>If you&#8217;re new to Dradis or upgrading from an older (2.6.x, 2.5.x&#8230;) release, go ahead and download the full package from the&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/dradisframework.org\/download.html\">downloads page<\/a>.<br><br>However, if you already have a working install of Dradis 2.7.0 maybe you don&#8217;t want to run the Windows installer again, or wait until your distro prepares an updated version of the package (did you know that&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/blog.dradisframework.org\/2011\/05\/dradis-270-in-backtrack-5.html\">BackTrack 5 shipped with Dradis 2.7.0<\/a>?). Here is how to get the latest 2.7.1 code up and running.<br><br>Go to your install location:<br><br>In Windows:<br><code><br>c:\\&gt; cd %APPDATA%\\dradis-2.7<br><\/code><br><br>In BackTrack:<br><code><br># cd \/pentest\/misc\/dradis<br><\/code><br><br>Backup the old&nbsp;<strong>server<\/strong>&nbsp;folder:<br><code><br># mv server 2.7.0-server<br><\/code><br><br>Now you have a decision to make: upgrade to 2.7.1 or clone the Dradis repository so you can upgrade to 2.7.1 but also to any forthcoming releases (recommended)<br><br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Upgrading to 2.7.1<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Download and uncompress the tarball for Dradis server 2.7.1 from GitHub:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/github.com\/dradis\/dradisframework\/tarball\/REL-2.7.1\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Uncompress in the&nbsp;<strong>drads-2.7<\/strong>&nbsp;folder renaming the extracted directory to just&nbsp;<strong>server<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Using git repository for easy upgrading<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>From the current folder, clone&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/github.com\/dradis\/dradisframework\/\">Dradis git repository<\/a>&nbsp;and point it to the latest release:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><code><br># git clone https:\/\/github.com\/dradis\/dradisframework.git server<br># cd server<br># git checkout -b REL-2.7.1 REL-2.7.1<br># cd ..<br><\/code><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Reset the environment and run the server<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p><code><br># .\/reset.sh<br># .\/start.sh<br><\/code><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If everything goes according to plan, you can now access Dradis on&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/localhost:3004\/\">https:\/\/localhost:3004\/<\/a>&nbsp;and in the top-right corner the version number will be&nbsp;<strong>2.7.1<\/strong>.\n\n<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This week we are&nbsp;releasing Dradis Framework 2.7.1&nbsp;which closes several bugs and brings a new note editor.
